Look forward to (something)

If you look forward to something, then you “can’t wait” until it happens… you are excited about something and are anticipating it.

1. I only go on vacation once a year, and this year I am looking forward to returning to a little beach town in the Northeast of Brazil called Jericoacoara.

2. Most Brazilians look forward to the Carnival, because whether you participate or not, you get to have a mini vacation.

3. I’m looking forward to the next season of the TV series “House”.

4. If you’re young and inexperienced, and you’re fresh out of college (university), life is not that easy… but on the other hand, you have your life ahead of you… there’s a lot to look forward to – so many opportunities and so much adventure. If you’re at the end of your career, then you can look forward to retiring and taking up (starting) a new hobby that you never had the time for before.

5. I always used to look forward to Christmas when I was a kid. It was a magical time -especially the part about getting tons of presents.
